Outer Voices is a Chicago-based ensemble founded in 2013 by composers Kenn Kumpf and Robert Reinhart. We are dedicated to the performance of one-per-part vocal repertoire that is seldom heard, specifically that from before ca. 1700 and after ca. 1950.
Outer Voices will make its Evanston debut at The Musical Offering (743 Custer Ave.) at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 18th with a showcase of some of our favorite pieces from previous concerts as well as a preview of upcoming ones. Featured is Four Voices, a new work by Chicago composer Nomi Epstein, accompanied by other contemporary pieces as well as two amazing trios from the fourteenth century by Machaut and Solage.
