Outer voices is a Chicago-based ensemble founded in 2013 by composers Kenn Kumpf and Robert Reinhart. We are dedicated to the performance of one-per-part vocal repertoire that is seldom heard, specifically that from before ca. 1700 and after ca. 1950.
Please join us for Outer Voices' third concert, Refraction/Reflection, as we explore varieties of imitation in music from five different centuries. From Machaut's canon on three texts to Furrer's fractured, spatialized setting of da Vinci, enjoy an evening of broken mirrors and deformed time. Admission is free; for more information, see our Events page.
